Nick Pearson — Freestyle Rope Art
Hi, I'm Nick

Painting with ropes
since mid 2007

My practice focuses on connection: ropes are my vehicle to connect our energy using sensual touch, which are the medium to communicate at a deeper more meaningful level.

My sessions aim to accompany you into a meditative state of calmness. With every brush of rope on your skin, with every touch, word and movement, I guide you into a deeper state of calmness, where your heart rate slows and you can feel fully safe and at peace.

Ultimately, I want you to get to a point where you don't feel anything at all and you find yourself in a permanent suspension between life's problems and deep meditation.

Your escape from the everyday
starts with a conversation.

..this is an Ai podcast, generated from over a decade of the wonderful humans I have met & tied within my rope art..

The Journey to Calm

My sessions aim to accompany you into a meditative state of calmness. With every brush of rope on your skin, with every touch, word and movement, I guide you into a deeper state of calmness, where your heart rate slows and you can feel fully safe and at peace.

Ultimately, I want you to get to a point where you don't feel anything at all and you find yourself in a permanent suspension between life's problems and deep meditation.

People have started to call me a "time vortex" because time moves at a different speed around me until, eventually, it completely evaporates and you feel free and safe to let go.

Therapeutic Hyperfocus

Rope is not only therapeutic for the person being tied, but it is extremely therapeutic for me: as someone with ADHD, my head is constantly racing, all day. When I am tying someone up, my head slows down, my brain enters a state of calm and it shows me that I am able to focus on just one thing: the care of the person or sculpture in front of me. This is one of the many reasons that make my connection with you with my ropes so unique: I need to connect with you so I can stay fully focused on you and get my undivided attention throughout the session (ever heard of ADHD hyperfocus?)

With me, every project, event, therapy, sculpture and tie is new, a new experience over and over again, where I get to fully express my creativity whilst guiding you through your own journey of self-discovery.

Hi! I'm Nick

Painting with ropes and practicing the "Art of Touch" since mid 2007.

My practice focuses on connection: ropes are my vehicle to connect our energy using sensual touch, which are the medium to communicate at a deeper more meaningful level.

I am self-taught in Rope art, taking cues and inspiration from traditional Japanese Rope Bondage methods and techniques. I focus, however, on a more freestyle approach that maximises the art of touch and sensuality. As such, I don't focus on the rigid knots, ties and suspension methods of the traditional forms — I find these can limit the expression and feelings of touch within a session.

So you will not get a traditional shibari-type session from me, but you will experience a world of sensuality and euphoria that will leave you wanting more.

Introducing you to Freestyle Rope Art and The Art of Touch

Creating beautiful, colourful, living artwork, using a sensual and holistic approach that combines music, lighting, scents and non-intimate touch to create a truly unique feeling of peace

My freestyle approach means no tie is ever the same; I adapt to every model and just let the creativity flow in the moment. However, I am happy to accommodate requests on a 'commission' basis if you have a specific idea you'd like me to bring to life

Rope artwork can be created anywhere, from my own studio, to your home, to outdoors in the breeze and sunshine

Couples are welcomed — whether you would like to be tied together, or if one of you would prefer to watch, rope art creates an intimate experience together, to embrace and enhance your connection

More Than Ropes

More Than Ropes

A deeper exploration that takes the rope experience further. During a session, I am very open to discussions of the feelings and kinks that are brought to mind, and I encourage you to explore your desires and needs in a safe environment.

This said, during an established and agreed session for what will happen, I would prefer that we stick to this to meet expectations. Should anything more be desired, I am very willing to explore this in a follow-on session where we can discuss what you are expecting to experience beforehand and ensure that all the necessary requirements and accessories are available.

All sessions are built on consent, communication, and trust. Your boundaries are always respected and celebrated.

Rope Therapy

Therapy

Rope as therapy goes beyond aesthetics. It is about arriving at stillness — a place where the weight of the world is held by something other than you for a while.

This includes Unconventional Brick Therapy — a complementary modality that works alongside rope to help ground the mind and body. Every session is tailored to your individual needs, pace, and emotional landscape.

For those navigating stress, anxiety, sensory needs, or simply seeking a structured escape from the pace of daily life — this space is for you. Everything discussed and experienced in session is held in complete confidence.

Please mention any health conditions, medications, or emotional context during our initial consultation so I can tailor the session appropriately for your safety and benefit.

Projects and Adventures

Projects & Adventures

Where rope art meets the wider world. Projects and Adventures covers bespoke collaborations — taking the practice outdoors, into unusual locations, or combining it with other creative disciplines.

Rope artwork can be created anywhere, from my own studio, to your home, to outdoors in the breeze and sunshine. I welcome interesting proposals and creative partnerships.

If you have an idea — however unconventional — let's talk about it. The most memorable sessions are always the ones nobody planned entirely.

Events and Performances

Events & Performances

Live rope art performance at private events, parties, exhibitions, and club nights. This is where the practice becomes spectacle — where the act of tying becomes something audiences can witness and feel.

Performances can be tailored to your event's theme, audience, and atmosphere. I bring the ropes, the creativity, the safety, and the presence. You provide the space and the people.

I much prefer to perform and make people feel safe in rope as an escape from their daily life problems. This is where my love truly lives.

To ensure the session is appropriately planned for the right number of people attending, please get in touch during our initial consultation so the event can be organised in a way that allows everyone to enjoy it.

Furniture and Sculptures

Furniture & Sculptures

Rope as object. Rope transformed into furniture, wearable art, and sculptural forms that carry the same intention as a session — tension, beauty, and the intelligence of material.

Every piece is handmade and unique. Whether you are looking for a statement sculpture, a functional rope piece for your home, or a bespoke commission, I approach each creation with the same care and craftsmanship as every tie.

Please get in touch to discuss your vision and we can explore what's possible together.

Before We Begin

Consent, Safety & What to Expect

Every session begins with a consultation. Your safety, comfort, and agency are non-negotiable. Nothing happens without your express consent, and you are always free to slow down, pause, or stop entirely at any point.

Please read the following important information before booking:

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need
to know before you book.

Yes, please make me aware of any conditions or medications that will have an impact on your session, this is for your safety. This is especially important if anything you are on impacts your blood pressure or you have mobility issues.
There is no specific dress code for a session, I would advise that you wear something you find comfortable and loose to and from the session. During a session, please choose clothing that you are comfortable in, potentially being pictured in (if so requested) and that allows you to feel the rope against your skin.
Yes, I welcome couples, throuples and groups — all are welcome. To ensure the session is appropriately planned for the right number of people attending, please discuss with me during our initial consultation, so the session can be organised in a way that allows everyone to enjoy it.
The average sessions can last between 2 to 3 hours once you arrive, please do ensure that you plan enough time to enjoy the session without any need to rush, and to clean up, get dressed at the end. While this is an average amount of time, sessions can be longer per request, or should the unexpected happen, again, depending on your needs during the day, for travel or other issues, please do plan carefully.
During a session, I am very open to discussions of the feelings and kinks that are brought to mind, and I encourage you to explore your desires and needs in a safe environment. This said, during an established and agreed session for what will happen, I would prefer that we stick to this to meet expectations, should anything more be desired, I am very willing to explore this in a follow on session where we can discuss what you are expecting to experience before hand and ensure that all the necessary requirements and accessories are available.
To ensure everyone's dignity and privacy, the preferred solution is that all photos are taken by myself with my camera and video equipment. This can ensure that everyone can have faces hidden or obscured, or any identifying marks covered or not recorded if required. I have masks and can place equipment over tattoos (as an example).

I would strongly discourage the use of personal devices to take photos or video during a session, as when using these, the results could be suboptimal; however, during sessions with more than 1 person, I would happily encourage the other parties to take pictures with my equipment once set up.

At the end of a session, the unedited versions of pictures will be provided to you so you can have them edited yourself if required.
I am self-taught in Rope art, taking cues and inspiration from traditional Japanese Rope Bondage methods and techniques. I focus, however, on a more freestyle approach that maximises the art of touch and sensuality. As such, I don't focus on the rigid knots, ties and suspension methods of the traditional forms, I find these can limit the expression and feelings of touch within a session.

So you will not get a traditional shibari-type session from me, but you will experience a world of sensuality and euphoria that will leave you wanting more.
In everything I do safety of everyone involved is very important; this is why mentioning medical conditions and medications is important. Regarding the issue of tying and knots, I have spent a long time learning the ties and knots that are safe to use, where to use them and how to tie them in a manner that should ensure safety and the ability for quick release if needed. This also includes where to use specific types of restraints on the body to avoid creating any potential pinch points. The unexpected, however, can't be planned for and should 100% absolutely mentioned immediately if you have any loss of sensation or feelings of numbness or "pins and needles". I always have safety equipment on hand to speedily release you from any situation.

Please also practice good personal safety rules, ensure others know what you are doing, where you are going and your plans for travelling back safely. I would encourage everyone to do so in all situations as a basic measure.

Let's create
something
together.
